Thursday Update and Pictures

I'm sure you all are wondering how my Jakey is doing today. One word. Good.

Since this morning his lungs have cleared up. His blood gases are good but he's still on oxygen.
The plan is to slowly wean him off of it over the next 12 hours or so.
The doctors also want to change his pain medication to something that won't keep him so sleepy all the time.
He's been resting well today and woke up a couple times, drank water and milk and watched a little mickey mouse. Also, get this... my little man... just 24 hours after heart surgery is waving goodbye to people as they leave the room. What a monkey!!

Here's a few pictures from the past 24 hours. Enjoy!

Wednesday Morning...

Right out of surgery....

Today...

My family back together again!

GIRL! I have not been able to get you all off my mind, but I did not think to check your blog for updates. So thankful that you are updating. I have been praying, praying, praying, and so glad to see that he is doing better. He looks so good for a baby who has just had heart surgery.
I cannot tell you how these post just bless me.

Thinking of you. Let us know if you need anything from here!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this latest update and all the pictures. We needed to hear and see these pics. Ann Arbor is only about 2 1/2 hours from me, but it might as well be 2 days away for how bad we need to hear what is happening. Amazing what they can do today with heart surgery. Looks to me like Jake will be good as new soon and will be ready to get back home.

God bless your little darling......thank you Dr. Bove, you are our hero.....FOR SURE !!!!!!!

Hope tonight is more restful for you all.

Yeah!! So glad to see some pictures. He looks like he's doing great! Praise the Lord. The nurse in me looked at the pics and thought, "ohhh, I hope someone puts that siderail up. I wouldn't want him to suddenly wake and buck out of that bed!" ha! ( I know you're saying, "well, he's really sedated." But believe me, I've seen it happen!! You're in my ol' stompin' grounds you know!)

Well, this family has been non-stop praying for Jacob the White and we are delighted that he's on the quick road to recovery! Thanks for the update :)

Team Jake looked great Wednesday morning, especially considering the hour. I've been checking the blog and passing the word to everyone here every couple of hours. Let the little man know that all of his many fans are thinking and praying for him. Love you all.

It is so great to see him doing so well. I keep checking the blog at work when I get a chance to see. We are so grateful that you have found time to update everyone, I'm sure it isn't easy. We love you guys and will continue to pray. He looks awesome. Praise be to God! I can't think about you all without tearing up, you know me.
I agree with Sonja about the bedrail. I was thinking the same thing. Do you need us to come up and show them how it is done? Just kidding, I wouldn't know where to begin. I'm sure the nurses and doctors are doing an excellent job. It sure looks like it.
Don't forget to take care of yourselves and get some rest.
Love, Amanda C.

I have to say I thought the same thing on the siderail as Sonja! :)

I have not commented but I just wanted to let you know I thought of you all on Wednesday without ceasing and just prayed to God. I was at the 40 Day for Life event that day for a while and thought especially of the little ones who are unwanted b/c of conditions like our children have that make people think they are less.

As you and I both know, we are the BLESSED ones to be their Mommas!

So,, so thrilled for Jake and his family! You are already past 24 hours! Yippee Jesus!

Good morning to all. I pray that Jacob had a good night. Got a request from Bobbi Ofstein this morning asking me to tell you that she is thinking and praying for Jacob. She is unable to send you the message from her computer. She has a prayer circle going among her friends and co workers.

We wait for our Friday update of how Mr. Jake is doing. God bless and love him. Thank you Lord for this darling little guy.

Jenn,

I am glad that things are looking up. We prayed for Jake again yesterday at work. Everyone was asking about him.

You all take care and know that God is good.

Kiss that lil' man for me and tell him that Camden (and chris and I) are praying for him!

We love you and are still in our prayers.
