Sometimes You Have To Ask The Hard Questions.

Answer: I have no earthly idea.

Send A Prayer Up Would Ya

Hey!

Jake goes back to his Nashville heart doctor next Tuesday. Will you please pray that everything looks great?

There's this little bubble of worry that's trying to resurface in my stomach but I refuse to let it. God's words ALWAYS has the answer.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God and the peace of God that transcends all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

I'm an Olympian.

I braved the high altitudes. The sub-freezing temps. The mass crowds to go to this beautiful place.

I got up before the sun on a saturday. A child still sleeping...a hot breakfest left behind so I could do this.

I mentally gold-medal'd in snow tubing. My sister and I acted like we were eight again for about two hours. Yep... we even wore matching outfits. So-like-totally-like-cool.
We didn't plan the matching outfits... it's kinda a twin thing we have going on...except we're not twins.
Oh yeah... this guy was there too.

Yep. He called this ridn' blind. Pull the old hat down and go. Do we live on the edge or what?
(I still don't know why he just didn't close his eyes.)
Jake stayed in the warm, cozy care of his grandparents while we played in 20 degree heat.
I'm always wanting to try something new and this was new.

Here are a few things I learned while snow tubing:

1) Your booty will get wet. If you have ski pants wear them. ( I did not)

2) Be prepared for hyper and competitive youth group leaders. (the tickets are first come,
first serve and boy do they want their tickets)

3) Be prepare to possibily die. ( yep...you have to sign that you are ok with that)

4) And last but not least.... the ride up is almost as fun as the ride down.

Our Revolving Door

The White House hosted three different families over four nights this past weekend. It was lots of fun but man am I tired. We had cars a'coming and a'going so much that a neighbor called to see what was going on.

First my sister was here to spend time with Jake. She was going to babysit while Dave and I went out for his birthday. Plans got messed up when Jake would not go back to sleep Saturday night so we opted for a nap instead of a date.

Of course she brought the latest holiday's present for my little man.
Aunt Megan never fails! Who else color coordinates her gifts?

Then Sunday Dave's brother and his family got here as Meg was leaving. Jake had a blast with his cousins!
Of course we have toy after toy to play with but nothing was as fun as the pull-out couch.
Under this blue blob is three squealing laughing kids.

They bounced and rolled..

and laughed and laughed and laughed. This picture is priceless.

Then Monday night God took me out of my comfort zone and led me to invite another family in who was facing medical issues. The snow, middle-of-the-night driving and a long day at the hospital just wasn't acceptable in my book. So they came and I'm so glad they felt comfortable enough to take me up on my offer.

He's a Joy.

Ya'll Jake was sooo funny at the Predators game Saturday night.

My sister was in town and we hadn't been in awhile so off we went.

I've decided whatever age your child is... that's how many periods of the game you get to stay.

Last year when Jake was one we'd leave after the first intermission. This year... we make it through two periods before he's bored with playing with the fold-down seats, the program, my cup, the people behind us and the stickers I've brought.

Saturday night he was so into it. First he started with his nervous look. He would stand there and twiddle his thumbs like an old man. Ah-dorable!
But the funniest was when Meg got him to start pointing. At what? Don't know. He would just point but the pictures make me giggle.
This one is his "We're Number 1!" pose.
Then he got to pointing with one hand and raising the other. Hilarious!
This is his "HE did it!" look.
We would just laugh and laugh because he'd squeal at the same time. It may be one of those you-had-to-be-there-moments.... but we had so much fun.
Also, my cutie made the jumbotron with a little help from a man I know who has connections.
I can't think of a good closing line tonight so I'll just leave ya with a smile.

Celebrate! Celebrate! Don't dance to the music!

The title is in reference to the man I'm married to who moves like...well like his last name!
HAH!

Maybe one day he'll have my skilzs! (hah! again!)

Now , since that is out of the way.. let's celebrate! What? (you may ask)

This weekend my hubby is turning the big 3-3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I LOVE YOU!

You know you're special when they hold the super bowl in honor of your birthday.
So join me everyone in wishing the best man, the best dad, the best worker and my best friend a happy, happy day.

Dave, I'll be kind and let you pick the movie this weekend. (that new josh duhamel movie looks really good)

There's Just Something About The Snow!

We have just about thawed out here. The driveway is still a mess and the front steps will probably be covered till June..but I see green in the yard. Can you grow clover in February? How about crabgrass? Because I'm convinced anything BUT grass will grow in our yard.
Speaking of the yard brings me back to the snow. Ahhh! Snow! Now depending on how you read that you may think I'm frustrated by it... but actually... it's more like a deep relaxing breath kinda ahhhhhhh... yes... snow.
There's just something about it. So I made I list. Because that's what I do.

1) There's something about the snow that makes me want to eat chili. (and I did)

2) There's something about the snow that makes me both productive and lazy. For example, I've cleaned out all my closets over the past three days but I've also watched waaaay tooo much TV.

3) There's something about the snow that makes me want ice cream. Dave put the car in four wheel drive Saturday night to get me some glorious Mayfield's cookie and cream.

4) There's something about the snow that makes me quiet. My neighborhood is never as quiet like it is right after a snow. I like it. If it wasn't so cold I would probably just sit outside and listen to nothing. Beside's look how beautiful it is.

5) And finally, there's something about the snow that makes my boy squint!
