Bubble Baby

My Jakey has come a long way.

Bubble baths used to freak him out sensory wise...the other night he jumped right in and was literally up to his neck in it.

Now, if we could just get through the car wash without a fit...

My little shopper

Who knew that my little boy would love catalogs as much as I do?

Seriously, on Sundays, I have to hide while I look at the Target add or he'll confiscate it.

The other day I caught him, curled up with his Predators blanket with the Target toys book.

Here's hoping Santa gets it right! Good luck!

Snow

It took some convincing from the sister 3 hours away.... but I suited Jake up the other day to go play in our first snow of the year. So glad I did.

He loved it. Actually, couldn't get enough of it and we got to use our new ski suit.

Love this picture!

This picture really captures how sweet and precious this little boy really is.

Those blue eyes, fair skin and red lips are soooo beautiful.

Love him so!

Scoot'n Around

We are out Saturday trying to get our outside Christmas decorations up while Jake was napping.
It was so darn windy that our Mickey Mouse in the backyard couldn't decide if he was praying or praising.

Anyway! Jake came out bundled up with his Pjs on and decided to go for a ride.
It was quite cute. Of course, I took a picture and or course... I'm sharing it with you.

Here's four-wheeling Jakey style.

speechless

I just got back from a wonderful weekend get away with my numero uno lady.

MY SIS!!

We headed out west to Phoenix where my sis was attending a conference.
I attended a weekend of do what I want when I want.
It was nice. realllllll nice. I highly recommend it.

We did a lot of sightseeing...including a moment of silence at the Fiesta Bowl where my beloved team won the National Championship back in 1998.

But, the highlight of our trip.... the Grand Canyon.

All I can say... I was speechless. It's big. It's deep. It's definately grand.

If you ever get chance you MUST go!

Back in Time..

Ok. I have to make one thing very clear.

I am absolutely in love with The Back To The Future Trilogy. I have it on DVD and refuse to get rid of my VHS copies.

So join me in my Deloreon...flux capacitor and all for a trip back in time.

Seat belt buckled? Check

3-point-21 gigawatts? check

85...86...87... 88 Miles per hour!

BOOM!!!!!!

We are now in the year 2010. Wait? 2010?

Yep.. We've traveled back a whole three weeks ago for you to see this!

This is my sweet boy celebrating his THIRD birthday!

Being the UT fans that we are.... being that a lot of my family is in Knoxville... being that it WAS the UT/ALabama weekend....Jake's party was on campus during our tailgating party.

Thanks to grammy for the Buzz Lightyear Cake.

Thanks to everyone for their wonderful gifts and for all the love and prayers you send our way. It's been an unbelievable three years.

Here's the pics...

These next two pics are kinda a big deal. Jake has texture issues so he doesn't eat cake. On this day he was interested in this cupcake.

He dipped his finger in...gave it a little taste and tried it. Huge deal!!

This is what he thought...

I love this little boy very much!

Oh MY!

Has it really been a month since I last posted something?!!

Yes, I believe it has.

October was well.... busy.

Lots to catch up on like the fact that my boy turned 3!

For now here's some pictures from Halloween.

We went as a toy story family.

There's Buzz...

And Woody and Jesse.

Jake had a great time. He'd walk down the street swinging his bag of candy. (he doesn't even eat it for goodness sake but he loved carrying it)

I love my neighborhood because of things like this.

Yes, every year this couple drives the neighborhood kids around in a cage. That totally sounds illegal but they have so much fun. At this point they were just getting started but 5 minutes later that cage was full.

Sooo, that's it. My first post in forever...that wasn't so bad.

Here's a couple more cute pics of my Buzz. Enjoy!

I looked and looked...

and I found this picture for you to see.

Jake and his squirt bottle. I could tell how he tries to get you wet. But the I can't describe his sweetness, his cautiousness and his lack of aim. I can tell you every time he moves the trigger we squeal and laugh like he's nailed us in the face... whether he's right on you or across the room.
This boy continues to be the hardest-easy thing I've ever done.

So watch out! Jake plus ol'blue means you might (or maybe not at all..but you'll act like it) get wet!

Transition

Our lives have been one big transition lately.

We are transitioning into a new weekly schedule.

Jake is transitioning into the school system in a few months.

Dave is transitioning into hockey season.

I'm transitioning into it all.

It's enough to keep a girl keyed up and whirrling.

So now you understand why the bloggy-blog-blog had been left to write itself. (which it did not..where's good help these days)

Even though it's almost a month late...here is Jake's first day of school picture.

Orange you glad it's the time of year.

Yes, we are Vol fans. We head east pretty often during football season.

My team is just kinda blaw this year but I have hopes of a good season.

What is not blaw...is the tailgating: the food, the family, the fun and of course the band.

Here's a few pictures from our home opening weekend.

Enjoy:)

After all the playing and fun... Jake crawled up in a chair with buzz and took a load off.

Update

It's been so busy around here that I just put the blog on hold.

We are slowly getting into a new routine. Slowly. Very Slowly.

So here's what I want you to know.

Jake's heart is still looking great. We went to the heart doctor this week for the first time in six months. The actual story is that I didn't write the appointment down, knew it was in September, and got a surprise on our way back into town Monday night. My answering machine had a message for the appointment Tuesday morning! The good news, I didn't have time to get worrisome over it.

Jake's heart looked fantastic and we go back in March. If we get the OK sign then... we'll start going yearly. Yearly. Did you read that. YEARLY!! oooohhh! That would be sweet.

I'll get pictures on soon. We've got football and testing and sickness and heat to talk about.

For now, wanted to spread the good news. Thank you Lord!

Plans...what plans?

So real quick... we didn't get to go through with the evaluations in Louisville after all.

Oh we went to Louisville...
And. Came. Right. Back. Home.

Dave's brother lives there and we'd just got to their house and not 10 minutes later, Jake was making puking noise, crying and running a fever.

Do we make great entrances or what?

We got up the next morning and came right back home.

Soooo, Louisville is rescheduled and school evaluations are in the morning.

Thanks for all your prayers.

Let the Test Begin

I wanted to let everyone know that Jake will be undergoing a lot of evaluations over the next few weeks. We are visiting a specialist in Kentucky first and then the week after that he'll get evaluated by the school system as we prepared for his IEP.
These evaluations are nothing medical but more developmental.

Please pray for this little boy who at 2 and half has had more then his fair share of people checking him out.

Pray that Jake does well and shows what he can do.

Pray that Dave and I are wise, and patient and strong and kind through it all.

Pray Romans 15:13 for my entire family.

May the God of hope fill you
with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with
hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Rhyme for Feeding Time.

There once was a boy name Jake,
Who sat at the table and ate.

With his foot in the air,
We just didn't care!

For at least he cleaned his plate!

Just A Bunch of Bull

Toldya it was a bunch of bull. I think my favorite is that last one.

I mean look at the cowboy's booty.

OUCH! that's gonna hurt.

Dave got tickets at work for the PBR event that came to town. I knew I'd see bull but I didn't expect to see this guy pop a wheelie on his lawnmower.

Oh yes. He did. Several times.

Jake did pretty good.

Beside throwing his buzz lightyear and hitting the old man in front of us he behave decently. The old man didn't mind being hit, he told us he was just glad it wasn't beer.

Yeah, that Jake, he looks sweet. But he's developed quite an arm.

Too Much To Look At !

Let's recap... last weekend we went from retirement party to baseball game to the 6 hours of the 127 yard sale (that's a entirely different post) to baseball in the back yard. Sooo how was Sunday gonna to live up to the rest of the weekend?
The aquarium of course.

This was Jake's 2nd visit. But, this time he was mobile and halfway through the first building I wondered why I even brought the stroller.

He looked.....

and looked....

sO

and looked.....

and looked some more.

And when my little looker was done.

He sat.

In water.

Jakey see... Jakey do

Jakey see baseball.

Jakey play baseball.

And notice.... mr. hat.

Suhhhh-WING!

WARNING: The tongue is out so serious work is underway.

I know I'm his mom...but folks, seriously.... isn't he just the cutest darn thing you've ever seen.
