Jake had an echocardiogram, ekg, chest x-ray, blood work, and visits with his doctors here.
Everything went well. So I guess we are ready to go.
Surgery is at 7:30 am. That's 6:30 Nashville time.
Here's the prayer list.
Pray for me and my family. That we have the strength to get through tomorrow morning. I don't want to let him go.
Pray for the doctors and nurses. Dr. Bove is the surgeon. Dr Pierce is his anesthesiologist. Jake is at high risk for being put to sleep because of his condition. Lord, I pray now for you to take over this situation.
Pray for Jake. That he breezes through everything without a hitch. That his recovery is swift.
We have alot ahead of us in the next week...but God is good. I have been preparing myself for this day for two years... so here. we. go.

We don't know each other, but I heard about you all at church - New Union Baptist in Dayton. Please know that we are praying for you and your blessed little boy Jake. I've put prayer requests for you on my facebook status, so know that MANY people who don't know you are praying for you all.
A friend of mine's little boy, Jacob (aged 10) had surgery today at Vanderbilt where they repaired holes in his heart, replaced a valve, and put in a stint. He came through the surgery well and is on his way to recovering. I also have requested prayer for him via facebook and God has definitely answered those prayers, I know he'll answer ours for your little boy as well!!!

Hey Dave, Jenny & Jacob I just want to let you know we are praying so hard for you guys. We will be wearing our shirts tommorrow in Jake's honor. Just remember he has so many guardian angels watching over him. I know he will be just fine. We love you guys.

I found your blog through Leslie Irwin. We adopted a toddler from China with a heart condition (Tetralogy of Fallot) and had her open heart surgery at Mott's Children's Hospital in April 2008. I can't say enough good things about our experience with the surgeon and staff at Mott's. Please know that I'm thinking and praying for your son.

Dear Jen, Tonight I pray for you. I pray you can sleep a few hours without worry. Tomorrow will be a long day and you will need to be rested and have energy to get through it. Jake has one of the best doctors in the country and he will get through the surgery just fine. Trust God and trust the doctors and nurses. More than anyone else in this world, Jake will need his Mom to give him comfort and assurance in the days ahead.
I pray that God gives you everything you need to get through the coming days.....you need to be strong for him and I am sure you will be. God bless and love you honey. Our prayers and thoughts are with Jake, you and Dave and all of the family that are with you. We will wear our T-shirts proudly all day tomorrow.
