My Sweet Baby..

How I Love YOU!!
I love your face when you've just woke up from a nap.

I love your face when your discovering something new.

And I love the way you greet your daddy. Everyday.

Your dad and I feel so lucky to have you.

Walking in Memphis

Yep.. the fam and I went to Memphis over the weekend.
It was (like almost everything we do) a last minute trip.
Dave got called to work the Grizzlies game Saturday night. We had already planned on having a big family weekend sooooo.... we decided to have our family weekend in Memphis.
Saturday evening while Dave worked.. Jake and I took in some sights.
We strolled down Beale Street, did a little shopping and then went to see the Peabody ducks.
As you can see... Jake was less then thrilled.
After the ducks we went back to the room for a snack and little get-into-everything-I-can-time.
Having a crawler in a hotel room was a first for me.

As for Sunday... we took Jake ((dave) to see the home of the king.

And then it was time for the ZOO!!
Jake did great! He enjoyed watching the animals and really enjoyed riding on his dad's shoulders.

Aren't they cute! Hope you all had a great weekend too!!

It's been a different kind of week around here. A good kind of different though...except that Jakey got sick.
Megan was here Monday...that same day her St. Patty's day gift to Jake arrived.
I think I've told you before but Meg sends Jake a gift for almost every occasion she can think of.
She's great like that.
Here's what was in the St. Patty's present.  Notice everything is green.

Then, Tuesday were started seeing a new Occupational Therapist.  She's  got a tough job trying to get Jake focused on what he needs to be doing. Luckily, she knows how to get him interested...just put him on the swing.
WHEEEEE!!!

Tuesday night my parents got here.  I was so thankful because Wednesday Jake started running a fever and it didn't really let up till Friday. The doctor thinks it was either a virus going around or the fact that he's teething AGAIN!!
Drool is rolling out of this boy's mouth like a river.
But thankfully he's back to his playful self.
My parents left Friday afternoon for the next stop on their spring break tour.
So that's it for the week. As for the weekend, I've got a little plan up my sleeve.
Enjoy the beautiful spring weather ya'll.

Oh No you Didn't... Oh Yes I Did!!!

Do you hear that? That ringing?
Oh wait... that's my ears.
I spent three hours last night in my childhood...with these kids.

Yep, the kids known as ... Jordan, Jonathan, Joey, Danny and Donnie.
New Kids on the Block came to the Sommet Center Monday night. Don't tell me you were never a fan..because if your female between the ages of 27 and 35... you were.
What made it even better was I got to go with this girl...

My sis drove all the way from Knoxville to see her former hearthrob.  No big deal right? Well I didn't find out until 3 Monday afternoon that Dave had even got the tickets.  So she left work...packed a bag...and zoom...zoom..zooom.  I LOVE IT!!
We had a blast, but man 15 years makes a big difference.

Exhibit A: " You've got the right stuff baby... I love it when you turn me on."
OK, that whole turn me on thing... didn't know what that meant 15-20 years ago.

Exhibit B:   Donnie said last night he owes us a little extra "sumpin..sumpin" because it's been 17 years since he's played Nashville.  In the old days that would of been cool. These days I say.. Don't worry about it. Just keep your pants up.

Exhibit C: Jordan is a grown man. He should not be dancing with his shirt unbuttoned in front of a high powered fan. (Can I get an Amen!!)

But the one thing that has stayed the same. My favorite member is still the best.

Ahh Joey!!! He can still belt out Please Don't Go Girl!!! And yes, he's still cute...and he can still dance.
There's one finally thing I need to say. This goes out to you Meg.
 LET'S GET THIS!!

Wilderness Adventure.

I'm writing today while Jake naps and Dave watches Bear Grylls.
He's the discovery channel man who takes on the wilderness every week.
I've seen him use a plant to sew, a deer leg as a cane and eat more brains and raw meat then I care to mention.
Right now, he's eating a dead Zebra.  The only thing that's black and white striped that I want to eat is Oreos .
No wonder he is so skinny. I bet he keeps the runs.
As crazy as Bear is... he has me thinking. (by the way..right now he's using elephant dung as kindling..which he says lighting it is not always that easy. Really? I didn't know it was hard to set poop on fire.)
Could I survive the wilderness? Even better...could Dave and I survive it together?
Say we were lost on the Appalachian trail.
I would be on the lookout for bears and snakes. Dave would be on the lookout for water and fish.
I would want to take inventory of what we've got.  Dave would calmly look at me and say.. "We're alright Jen."
I would  schedule when we hike, when we rest and when we stop for the night. Dave...he'd stop when he's tired.
There is one thing we would do the same. Lean on each other. We've been through scary situations before.
Thinking back, the thing I remember most about them is Dave. Holding my hand.  Kneeling and praying with me through tears.
So... I guess I really don't need a wilderness adventure after all. This life is already wild enough.

A Moment of Jen

I'm living in a Jen world these days.   It's actually kind of odd.
It donned on me yesterday that everywhere I turn there's a Jennifer, Jenny or a Jen.
It's not a vain thing...more like a twilight zone kinda things.
Venture into this world with me...why don't ya.

I went to my Monday playgroup yesterday. There's four of us. Three are named Jennifer.

I called my Pediatrician whose first name is Jennifer.

I stopped to talked to my neighbor on the way out last night... you guessed it. Jennifer.

But oh no...my friends it doesn't stop there. I've emailed a different Jennifer today and can think of three others  I need to get hold of.

Maybe it is a vain thing after all.  Or maybe I'm witnessing a fad of the 70's enter my life.

Snow is Cold....Ya Know

We spent 20 minutes getting Jake dressed to go out in the snow.

The outdoor adventure lasted 5 minutes. It was cold and waaaaaay toooo winnnnndy!!

Keep that in mind when you take a look at the pictures.  It's the best we could do.

(Note to my father: We finally used those ski pants you bought him. Thanks!!)
